When sailing through a channel that splits, knowing which way to go is critical. That’s where preferred channel markers come in. These buoys are marked with both red and green colors, with one color dominant — showing which side of the channel is preferred. 🌍 Region A: Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, the Gulf, and some Asian countries 🌏 Region B: North, Central & South America, Japan, North & South Korea, and the Philippines In Region A, “green to starboard” keeps you safe. In Region B, remember “Red Right Returning.” Understanding these rules helps beginner sailors avoid confusion and navigate safely. 🔗 More sailing tips, cheat sheets & free downloads here: [bit.ly/LatestCheats] 👉 Watch our full sailing guide: https://youtu.be/30csRFMZh24 ⚓ Subscribe for more beginner sailing tutorials, navigation tips, and how-to guides to help you sail with confidence.

Helping during docking? Don’t just jump in. Think first. It’s easy to rush, shout, or pull lines without knowing the plan. But real seamanship starts with clarity and calm. 3 rules before you step in to help: 1. Ask clearly what the captain needs 2. Act fast — but never in panic 3. Protect yourself first — always Helping isn’t just about being there. It’s about being useful, smart, and safe. Train with us if you want to master the mindset. We don’t just teach knots. We teach presence. #mediterraneanmasterclass #epicnavigator #docking #sailing #seamanship #milebuilding
