While we already liked the Elite 7 with DownScan thanks to its large seven-inch screen and robust construction (see Sonar Smack-Down), Lowrance has improved the unit by adding limited CHIRP abilities. This seems to be Lowrance's answer to Raymarine's Dragonfly, which is another form of "CHIRP light." Toni and I headed to “Moments in Time” to raise and furl the screecher sail but the pouring rain caused by Ernesto out in the Atlantic delayed our arrival. Since the breeze was too much to raise and furl a large sail, we decided to rig the flag halyards off the port and starboard spreaders. At least we got something checked off our “to do” list.
