Back to the boat.. After five weeks away—and a little longer neglecting the boat while working on my book project—I’m heading back out to Wahine. The manuscript is now submitted, and while I wait for feedback, it’s time to give the boat some overdue attention. First job: pump up the SUP and check for leaks, so I can get back and forth more easily while moving Wahine further up the inlet to tackle some boat projects. It also saves hauling Mitsu’s heavier tender back into the water. Nothing dramatic. Just the practical realities of life afloat—tools, tides, and a bit of trial and error. Good to be back. We sail on the good ship Saracen, a Beneteau Oceanis 473 from 2006. Out journey started in Scotland in early 2023 and our ultimate goal is to sail around the globe …..slowly. We make these videos mostly for family and friends and to create a record of our adventures for ourselves so that we can look back at them later in life, were not in it to make money (way to hard).
