Competent Crew Course details: ➜ https://www.firstclasssailing.com/rya-courses/competent-crew In this short clip you see us out on the Solent during a RYA Competent Crew Course (sailing from Southampton). We sail out of the hove to position by centring the helm and allowing the wind, which was on our port side, to come around the stern of the boat, onto our starboard side. This is known as gybing: taking the stern of the boat through the wind. ** About the RYA Competent Crew course in Southampton ** The RYA Competent Crew course is the perfect introduction for beginners who want to get into sailing and is specifically designed for those with little to no sailing experience. It is the ideal starting point.
