Le Vendée Globe 2012 est la course autour du monde en solitaire sans escale et sans assistance qui passe par les trois caps, le Cap de Bonne Espérance, le Cap Leeuwin et le Cap Horn. Le départ de la course est donné des Sables d'Olonne tous les quatre ans. Les éditions précédentes ont été remportées par Titouan Lamazou, Alain Gautier, Christophe Auguin, Michel Desjoyeaux et Vincent Riou. Die Halse mit Spinnaker und den doppelten Schoten und einem asymetrischen Spinnaker Baum ist anspruchsvoll aber auch sehr sicher bei viel Wind. In meinen Segeltrainings ist dies das Königsmanöver. Auf einem Törn eher selten, dann schon eher beim Skipper Training auf Mallorca zu finden.
