Overall, however, fuel consumption is low. When we took 18 days to cross the Atlantic Ocean we only used 4 gallons of Diesel and most of that was for running the generator! We live in New Zealand and Cyclone Gabrielle formed just south of the Solomon Islands and tracked down the East Coast of New Zealand in February 2023. Whilst we were very fortunate to make it through this experience unharmed, Cyclone Gabrielle caused widespread devastation in our home town of Hawke's Bay and along the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand.
