Miroslav “Mira” Slovak was a Czech Airlines pilot who hijacked his own plane in 1953 to flee the Soviet regime, eventually becoming a U.S. citizen, air race champion, and aerobatic pilot. Here in San Diego, we’re lucky to enjoy year-round sailing, with our crew hitting the water 7 days a week, all 12 months of the year. Southern California’s weather during January, February, and March is hard to beat—lately, we’ve been enjoying sunny days with temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
