Le public était bien présent - les édiles également ! La marraine du SeaKite, Isabelle Autissier, a encourager à de nouveaux usages plus responsables en termes écologiques tout en encourageant la technologie et le recherche à mettre en place de nouvelles solutions décarbonées. ► L'ancien catamaran à gréement double dont les coques sont dotées de redans – à la manière des flotteurs d’hydravion - est bien devenu un multicoque expérimental propulsé par des ailes de kite à écoulement laminaire réalisée en Vectran® – ces voiles devraient assurer une excellente remontée au vent. Le catamaran est également doté de turbines biomimétiques de l’entreprise ADV Propulse. Ces dernières permettront de produire de l’électricité « sous kite » (600 W à 6 nœuds) et de propulser (2 x 15 kW en 48 V) le multicoque lorsque les conditions seront incompatibles avec l’envoi de l’aile. Des panneaux solaires sont également en place. Le catamaran démarre donc sa deuxième carrière et devrait profiter des feux de la rampe – festival Win for Good à Saint-Nazaire, Jeux olympiques de 2024 à Marseille et départ du Vendée Globe aux Sables-d’Olonne.
