Passengers onboard our Silversonic dive and snorkel vessel and Pro Dive Cairns Liveaboard vessel had rare whale shark encounters within days of each other at Turtle Bay on the Agincourt reefs (Silversonic) and at Flynn Reef off Cairns (Pro Dive Cairns). The spectacular whale shark sighting encountered by Silversonic's passengers and crew measured around 6m in length and was travelling slowly in a north west direction. If you listen to the various discussions around the docks, you know that there is significant disparities among sailors concerning fixed docks and floating docks. For Toni and I, nothing beats a floating dock and we think most catamaran sailors would agree. Fixed docks required line adjustments, fender movements, and simply getting on and off the boat safely depends on the tides. However, a floating docks are a set it, and forget it.
