One of the most important things to understand as a diver is that most marine life including moray eels and sharks are not really aggressive as long as you respect their space. A patient observer may even be befriended by some curious creatures. The Green Moray Eel is often misunderstood as being aggressive when in fact they are quite shy creatures. Their poor eyesight does make bright objects a curiosity however they are rarely aggressive unless you threaten them or their territorial space. Transit 38 cruising catamaran by Woods Designs overtaking a 41ft FP Lipari to windward in 15-20 knots wind. One cruising couple on each boat. When we met the Lipari we were sailing in the other direction, so had to gybe round to chase them. So we started maybe 1/4mile behind them and right behind. we slowly caught them up. Pointing higher and sailing faster. It is hard to film and steer at the same time!
