In this video, we dive into the fascinating art of dehusking a coconut the traditional way, as taught by the locals. From using simple tools to mastering the technique, it's a skill that’s been passed down for generations. Watch as we try to keep up and learn firsthand how the process is done with efficiency and precision—while we might look a little clumsy in comparison! David Payne of the Australian National Maritime Museum gives us a little inspiration for the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame with a look at Barrenjoey, the 5.5M yacht which was sailed to Olympic glory in 1964. Grandfather Bill Northam and crew Peter “Pod” O’Donnell and James Sergeant, won Australia’s first Olympic sailing Gold medal in Tokyo in this beautiful boat which was designed in the US but built in Australia. Nominations for the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame close on June 16, so get your nominations in 👉🏻http://www.sailing.org.au/australian-sailing-hall-fame/
