Catching up from behind in the thrilling Frosties Regatta 2025, held at the stunning Strangford Lough, is no easy feat, especially when sailing a competitive J109 sailboat. The Strangford Lough Yachting scene is known for its close racing and this regatta was no exception, with teams like Bottom Up Boats pushing hard to take the top spot. The sailing action was intense, with down wind sailing proving to be a crucial aspect of the race. As part of the SLYC racing calendar, the Frosties Regatta 2025 did not disappoint, with tight racing and dramatic turns that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. For those who love lough sailing, the J109 race was a highlight of the 2025 regatta, showcasing the skills of Northern Ireland's top sailors. With its rich sailing heritage, Strangford Lough provided the perfect backdrop for this exciting event, which saw sailboat race enthusiasts gather to witness the thrill of yacht racing. The close race was a testament to the skill and strategy of the teams involved, making for an unforgettable sailing experience.

Secret bay in the South of Ibiza! We did not plan to go at anchor at this bay, we ended up here by chance! We sailed along the famous rockisland Es Vedra when it turned out that the westerly wind would not make it comfortable to anchor there. So we kept sailing for 20 minutes further south along the west coastline of Ibiza, when we suddenly saw this hidden bay between the rock walls! It's a shallow bay about 30 meters wide and max 10 meters deep which has a pebble beach. It is enclosed by steep cliffs and about 5 fisherman's huts built against the rock face. There are no facilities. During the day that we were here, 2 small empty fishingboats were anchored here, 2 locals were sunbathing on the beach and 4 kayaks passed by. It was 1 of our favorite bays, so we made a video with our drone!

Day 3 at the North Sound @MaxiRegatta introduced something new: Triple Head Sunday, a time trial-style race where each team picked their perfect moment to send it down a 1.4-mile reaching course. With the pressure on to go as fast as possible, strategy and timing were everything. North Sails-powered Balthasar came out on top on corrected time. “That was a nice bonus,” said North Sails expert and project manager Bouwe Bekking. But beyond the result, it was the unique format and full-team effort that made the day memorable. “It was a big day for us,” said Bekking. “We had the owner's wives and friends onboard, which was really special. I’d say they were our lucky charm. We nailed the timing, had good pressure in the first run, and got our triple-head configuration dialed in.” Sailing at 20–22 knots with three headsails flying—a jib, genoa staysail, and a smaller sail on the bowsprit—Balthasar showed what the team (and the sails) could do when everything clicks. Triple Head Sunday delivered exactly what this week is all about: good breeze, clever racing formats, and a whole lot of fun—on and off the water.
