Anytime we feel like life is getting to us, our favorite escape is getting into the ocean. There is something so cleansing about the ocean and the life is sustains, including us and a little bit a vitamin sea is all that we need to recharge and remind us the beauty that surrounds us. This short video is shot at one of our favorite spots in all of French Polynesia. Sharks and Rays come to play and you get to see the different species that make this so special. Seven years into boatlife, I sometimes look back at the naive girl I was when we first stepped on board ForTuna, unsure whether I envy her optimism or feel grateful to be a seasoned liveaboard now. She definitely didn’t expect these five things: 1. How much mental energy small decisions take. Weather, anchorages, groceries, maintenance, nothing is big on its own, but everything needs attention. 2. How quickly “adventure” turns into routine. And how necessary that routine becomes if you want to stay. 3. How comforting familiarity feels. Knowing one anchorage well can feel richer than constantly moving on. 4. How little the big moments matter compared to the small ones. It’s not the passages you remember most, but the everyday rhythms. 5. How boatlife doesn’t become easier, you just learn what actually matters. Stay Salty, Greta and Michael #sailing #sailinglife #liveaboard #sailingadventure #liveaboardlife
