This weekend people all over the country (and the world!) are greening their houses, their workplaces, and their cities in preparation for the holiday season. Why not let a boat be part of the fun?! Here in Gig Harbor, Washington we have a great maritime culture, and every year there is a holiday boat parade where people festoon their boats with lights, and circle the harbor after sunset. It's fun to view both from the water and from land, taking in the holiday lights from both sides. Sem saber exatamente o que esperar, vivemos uma das coisas mais surreais das nossas vidas. Tudo começou por volta das 19h15. Com os óculos apropriados, já conseguíamos ver a lua passando lentamente na frente do sol, começando a bloquear sua luz. Aos poucos, o céu foi escurecendo, o horizonte ganhou aquele tom alaranjado de pôr do sol e, por alguns instantes, conseguimos ver a coroa solar! Aí veio a totalidade 🌑 Durou pouco mais de um minuto, mas foi simplesmente INCRÍVEL!! Ancoragem perfeita, tempo perfeito, céu limpo… ✨ Isso acontece por causa de uma coincidência cósmica absurda: a Lua é cerca de 400 vezes menor que o Sol, mas também está aproximadamente 400 vezes mais perto da Terra. Por isso, os dois parecem ter praticamente o mesmo tamanho no céu. É isso que torna possível um eclipse solar total! A gente já viu muita coisa vivendo a bordo do Utopia, mas essa definitivamente entrou para a lista das experiências que nunca vamos esquecer! 💝 Que privilégio estar aqui para ver isso acontecer 🧡✨🤩 O time lapse é muito legal!
