Trash on a boat is a daily occurrence! When we buy groceries we try to remove and leave as much packaging on shore but trash inevitably accumulates. In each new harbor we have to find the spot where cruisers can deposit their trash. In some cases, like St Maarten, it’s free. In other countries, or ports, there are small fees. The one thing a cruiser should never do is bring trash to land and leave it for someone else to take care of. AThe 25-knot north winds are finally letting up, and it’s time to move. Tomorrow, we leave Bimini aboard our Island Packet 320, Salty Abandon, and begin crossing the Great Bahama Bank. The plan is to work our way toward the Northwest Channel, then cross the Tongue of the Ocean to the west end of New Providence Island.
