► Since 1973, the La Rochelle Boat Show, known simply as “Le Grand Pavois” in French, has been THE not-to-be-missed afloat show on France’s Atlantic coast. With 750 boats on display and a record 80,000 visitors, the 2023 event (that ran from September 20 to 25, so a little earlier than usual) clearly benefited from the scheduled absence of the Paris Boat Show at the end of the year. According to the organizers, no more than 10 square feet was left available at the Port des Minimes! Of course, the Multihulls World team was there. Another blast from the past! Derek was towing me in the dinghy with the sailboat towards Migros. I was going to row the rest of the way as we did not have an outboard motor and we were heading up into 10 knots of wind! This legend from Migros saw us and decided to come help us out by giving me a lift! What a legend!
