Foi dada a largada para a 48ª Semana Internacional de Vela de Ilhabela, realizada entre os dias 24 e 31 de julho de 2021, no Yacht Club de Ilhabela (YCI), no litoral norte paulista. Neste sábado (24), velejadores e jornalistas se credenciaram para o evento, que conta com protocolo rígido de saúde por conta da pandemia Covid-19. As tripulações também aproveitaram para fazer os últimos ajustes em seus barcos para as primeiras regatas do evento. O grande encontro da modalidade conta com 80 barcos das principais classes de vela oceânica, como ORC, RGS, Mini Transat, Multicasco, Bico de Proa, Clássicos, C30 e HPE25. E, pela primeira vez, reúne regatas presenciais e virtuais, com as provas online feitas pelo aplicativo Virtual Regatta Inshore. We are in the direct path of tropical cyclone Vaianu as it heads for New Zealand’s north island but we’re hoping that our preparations will be enough as we get our boat ready in the yard for the weather to deteriorate throughout the day. We’ve tied the boat down to concrete blocks and stored all our solar panels and things that were underneath the boat in a shed so that they are protected. Here we go!
