Are my kids too young to go on a sailing holiday? My answer is NO. We love having kids as young as 6 months old, one year old, the little ones on our boat. And it does depend on the adults on board. My top tip for having kids on board is to get the netting that goes around the side of the boat. This isn't necessarily going to catch your child from coming overboard but it's definitely going to be a huge deterrent from them crawling over the side. Follow in the footsteps of the Samson family, who decided to whisk their two teenagers away for a sailing holiday in the Whitsundays for a bit of digital detoxing. They hired a Venturer 38 power cat and cruised around the islands, going wherever they wanted to go, which the kids loved. They went snorkelling lots, went kayaking and paddle boarding, did lots of walks around the islands, and even played cards and other games, like they hadn't done as a family in years.
