Pour battre le record, détenu depuis le 25 décembre 2016 par Thomas Coville en 49 jours 3 heures 4 minutes et 28 secondes, François Gabart devra couper la ligne d’arrivée avant le 23 décembre à 13h09 (heure française) sur son trimaran MACIF. En plus de travailler sans relâche pour faire avancer son trimaran de 30 mètres le plus rapidement possible, il devra donc bénéficier d’un enchaînement de conditions météo favorables. A program through the Alberta government has been implemented to restore historical wetlands on agricultural properties. The county applied for the grant and asked me to host the project here on the farm. Of course, everyone here was in agreement. 80 year old aerial photos and other evidence indicate that this field had wetlands that were subsequently filled in and lost. As happens everywhere that factory farming occurs. Now, in order to destroy wetlands on your land, you have to pay a fee. Those fees go into these WRP (Wetland Restoration Project) projects. I feel great that we are contributing to the development of habitat for countless pollinators, amphibians, and bird and mammal life with this project. I’ll put out a full-length video soon with more details.
