Day 5 of our Christmas calendar takes us to the aft head—our little onboard bathroom that does it all! 🎄 Here’s how it works: 💧 Running water thanks to our water pump, so you can brush your teeth or take a shower just like at home. 🪥🚿 ⛵ Sit-down shower: A handy feature when the boat is moving, making it much easier (and safer) to shower under way. The biggest difference? The toilet! We use a manual pump toilet, which requires a bit of technique (and sometimes a quick tutorial for guests). 😊 Some boats have electric toilets, but we like the simplicity and reliability of our manual setup. It may be compact, but this space is fully equipped for life onboard! What’s your biggest question about boat bathrooms? Let us know in the comments! 💬 🎥 See you tomorrow as we continue our boat tour! 🎵 Music by Sergio Prosvirini from Pixabay #YouTubeShorts #Explore #TravelVlog #Vloggers #DailyLife #ChristmasCalendar #Vlogmas #ChristmasOnBoard #Beneteau44cc #Sailing #Liveaboard #LifeAtSea
#sailing #PHRF #sailboatracing #CaptainQ #BoatFools #racingstories #sailboatlife Old Sailing Rivals Talk Smack Two old racing rivals. One rating system. Plenty of trash talk. ⚓😄 In this short, Captain Alan “Captain Q” Kew and Tristram Coburn revisit the good old days—when starting lines were crowded, egos were fragile, and PHRF ratings decided who really won the race. If you’ve ever wondered what PHRF (Performance Handicap Racing Fleet) means, or why sailors argue about it decades later, this one’s for you. Using the Intrepid 40 as the spark, we break down how PHRF works—seconds per mile, rating differences, and why two boats (and two skippers) can finish together but never agree on the result. This is accidentally educational sailing content: part nostalgia, part explanation, and part friendly (mostly) rivalry. Whether you’re a cruiser, racer, or just here for the banter, welcome to BoatFools Sailing. 👉 Subscribe for real-world sailboat reviews, racing stories, and honest boat-buying advice—no yacht-broker fluff.
