#shorts So we had lucky dolphins bow ride our sailboat on our first official day under full sail without an instructor or other experienced sailor to aid us. Just me and dad running the boat, riding the wind. Off grid living when aboard a boat is truly unique. Can’t see these kind of things in an RV!

J109 Going to Red blasting downwind at over 12 knots with the wind gusting to 35 knots. We the bow wave breaking back behind the spreaders it was all hands to the back of the bus as we blasted across a tight reach. The 35 knot puff which hit us just before this laid us flat for 20 second and also most dumped out bow man over the side. There was quite a bit of yelling and screaming required to get the messages from the front of the boat to the back and visa versa. With the kite finally making it to the top of the mast and a couple of the crew hitting the rail we set of to catch the race leader who was not brave enough to fly the kite as the breeze built as the low pressure cell moved over northern Ireland and and built the breeze to over 35 knots. The J109 is a a great ocean going yacht which is stable and responsive even in the biggest of breezes. The team at Bottom up boats hopes you enjoyed this short video of us flying up Strangford Lough on the way to round island

Quick test of a tiny QEV cannon firing air at 12atm, viewed through a Schlieren setup (no razor blade). Edited from to 1/4th normal speed. I didn't quite understood the need for a razor blade but without one I still see the flow of air. For me, the razor blade just makes the dot of light smaller(?) If anyone can clarify me what the razor blade really does and where it should be placed (in the source of light or in the camera) I'd really appreciate. Also important to note that this is AWESOME to look with the naked eye but almost the dimmest light can blind you. I covered a tiny LED torch with aluminum foil and punctured a hole with a sewing needle, on the side! so that the LED doesn't bright directly through the hole. Take care with the eyes!!
