New Zealand is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, places to travel. Back in 2017 I spent five months there spearfishing and freediving throughout the entire country. Exploring not just on land, but under the sea as well was an amazing experience. The kelp forests were especially fun to dive through. Here you see me diving in the Coromandel Peninsula. After finding a cool rock formation, I knew I had to dive down and see what was underneath. Although there was no fish, it was still an amazing freedive and one that I'll never forget! . . Progress continues on Hull #006 as this classic Hinckley Picnic Boat 37 moves closer to the finish line. This week in the shop: • Hull fully faired and in final prep for paint • Structural glasswork largely complete, including a fully re-glassed engine room with new stringers engineered for the repower • New helm pod fabrication underway • Varnish nearing completion — all sealer coats finished, final build coats up next • Twin Volvo D6 480HP diesels have arrived from W.W. Williams and Power Products and have been test-fit with the new stringer layout We’re excited to partner with Raymarine on their latest electronics and digital switching, and Volvo for their marine diesel power solutions. Stay tuned as this PB37 continues to come together.
