The "Golden Age of Piracy" took place between the late 17th and early 18th centuries, when pirates were most active in the Caribbean, West Africa, and the American colonies. Pirates had their own language - Pirates used a language called "Pirate Speak" or "Pirate Jargon," which was a mix of English, Spanish, and other languages. It included words like "avast" (stop), "matey" (friend), and "booty" (treasure). Dock Dodge is a sailboat race on Lake Union, annually May - September, held at 7 pm on Tuesday nights. On Tuesday, August 10th, the theme was Tropical Night. In this video, the island is being erected, for some fun in the sun! The island is a gathering spot for boaters to grab a drink and enjoy the company of fellow sailors after the race!
