This Rogue was built by a luthier as the "just-right" size amongst John Welsford's many capable camp cruising sailboat designs. Here it sails in Puget Sound with other participants in the 2019 Salish 100 Small Boat Cruise. Off Center Harbor is an online destination for great boats, stories, and boating skills: www.offcenterharbor.com/yt-1910/ The Rogue is 14'7" long with a 4'5" beam, rigged here as a yawl with a leeboard but capable of diverse rigging configurations. John Welsford Small Craft Design: http://www.jwboatdesigns.co.nz/ Welsford Rogue: http://www.jwboatdesigns.co.nz/plans/rogue/index.htm The first-ever SALISH 100 was a small-boat cruise in June 2019, running the length of Puget Sound--100 nautical miles from Olympia to Port Townsend, Washington, including more than 100 watercraft ranging from SUPs to kayaks, rowing boats to pocket-cruising sailboats, and about 15 larger support boats, otherwise known as Motherships. Planned overnight stops along the route included Hope Island Marine State Park, Penrose Point Marine State Park, Gig Harbor, Blake Island Marine State Park, the Port of Kingston, and Mats Mats Bay before reaching our final destination in Port Townsend. After plans for joining a boat for the Volvo Round Ireland Race fell through, we were determined to get out and get some footage of some of the leading boats passing down through the Irish Sea. At around 2000 on Sunday night we headed out in 20 knots of breeze in a 6M Rib to try catch the 3 MOD70's which were competing, But unfortunately these were just too fast. Our next target was to try catch George David's Juan K Canting Keel Rambler 88 the next morning. We set off at around 5am in light winds and headed North to meet the boat as it passed The Maidens off Larne. We stayed with the boat for around 30 minutes and even though the breeze was only a Force 3, Rambler still was racing along at around 14 knots. We are interested in getting involved with some offshore sailing for the 2017/2018 season. As well as event coverage we'd love to sponsor a yacht for an online media campaign, including video, photography and social media. Get in touch via info@sixnineone.co for a chat about what we can do for you.

Travel nurses show up in Loreto to learn to mermaid. It's a lot harder then it looks! The mermaid tails were designed for kids, and half the time their feet would fall out of the small fin pocket, creating a houdini drowning escape situation! It's not easy swimming without a mask, it took some practice to look natural underwater while having no idea what you're looking at! Abby was fantastic crew on Volare, the sailboat visible in the distance. I wrote a book on Crewing, if you're interested: https://amzn.to/3RMTw5y Volare is for sale! https://www.yachtworld.com/yacht/1978-herreshoff-caribbean-50-8730617/ Virtual Tour of Volare https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADsQ132KNvE #mermaids #mermaid #sirena #siernas #mexico #seaofcortez #islacarmen #volare
