Schön, dass du hier bist! Wir, Emely und Tjark, haben uns den Traum vom eigenen Segelboot erfüllt, eine Maxi84, relativ spontan und ohne das ganz große Geld. Das Boot müssen wir noch umtaufen auf den Namen Meera. Wir nehmen dich mit auf unsere Reise von blutigen Anfängern zu hoffentlich passablen Seglern. Bevor wir uns in die Wellen stürzen können, liegt noch ein Berg an Arbeit vor uns. Umbauten, Änderungen und vor allem der Sportbootführerschein müssen erledigt werden. Matt and Lisa make the tough decision to Sail away from Key West, in the aftermath of hurricane Ian. Key West experienced it’s fair share of death and destruction during the storm, and with another storm possibly following the same path in nine days, the crew decided to start their adventure two months earlier than planned. The five day sail up to mainland was filled with poor weather, big waves, and little sleep. Once they arrive in Fort Lauderdale, they quickly work to get the sailboat stocked with food, fuel, and anything else they will need for their international travels.
