Ela foi projetada para compensar a diferença no ângulo de ataque do vento entre uma genoa e um spinnaker. O que importa durante as manobras é muito mais fácil do que com um balão, é a vela ideal se tiver uma tripulação pequena. Devido à sua geometria, um gennaker tem menos probabilidade de entrar em colapso do que um spinnaker, tornando-a uma vela de suporte mais estável. Lyman-Morse built, delivered, and installed a canopy for the Kendall Square MBTA stop in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The 160’ x 32’ canopy structure is made of fiberglass with carbon-fiber bulkheads. Here is a great video done by NADAAA, a Boston based architecture and urban design firm, which acted as the Design Architect for this project.
