There comes a time in every cruiser's life where they will eventually face the need to replace their cutlass bearings. We've dropped our rudders, taken the props off (BYE BYE!), and the shafts out. The shafts are really important not to damage, scratch or knick in way away so both shafts have been cradled like precious babies and stored in a safe, secure area on cushioning. Once all of that was done, it was time to get the Cutlass Bearings out. What’s the latest news from our sheds in Cape Town? The deck of the new SW108#01 is now married to the hull, and our first 108' hybrid yacht is taking shape day by day! The 'dry fit' technique combines the need to keep the boat 'open' as long as possible, facilitating the assembly of elements onboard, with the need to structurally join the deck to the hull and - above all - to the bulkheads.
