A post-race lecture discussing Rule 14 "Avoiding Contact" and what is reasonably possible and I countered with even if you are the stand on vessel getting into collisions always slows you down. If you can avoid a collision a boat should always do so for a host of reasons, but the most basic is that hitting other boats is a very slow way to get around the racecourse. Avant de quitter le Québec, nous avons passé l'été à Tadoussac, en vivant sur notre voilier. Dans ces eaux à 4°C, on trouve des bélugas, des phoques, des baleines, etc. En cette petite sortie d'après-midi, on a eu la chance de voir passer un rorqual à 20 pieds du bateau!!!! Jamais on a vu une baleine d'aussi proche!
