Fushifaru Maldives goes beyond the typical confines of sun, sea and sand. Located on the eastern fringe of Lhaviyani Atoll, the island’s surrounding ocean is a nature-lover’s paradise and home to eagle rays, parrotfish and even the occasional hammerhead shark. Accommodation options at the resort include Beach Villas and Water Villas and the island also has three restaurants, including Raakani Grill, which serviced flavourful Asian delicacies and a wide range of fresh seafood. For a more private dining experience, guests can also pick a spot anywhere on the island or sandbank to enjoy a customised meal. Sailors are a superstitious bunch. From bananas being bad luck to renaming a boat without a ceremony, the sea has its own rules. We broke a few of these traditions during our boat’s renaming, but with respect and a little luck, the ocean was still kind. 🌊✨ Would you follow the old sailor superstitions or break them? Tell us in the comments. Ready to make your own memories on the water. Superstitions optional. Good days guaranteed. 👉 Book your sail with us here: www.lazysheetsailing.com #SailingSuperstitions #SailingSXM #StMaarten
From our Komodo to East of Flores Cruise in September/October 2014. We could get really close to groups of 4-8 huge whales. This was the moment to try out something new and Jos and me stepped into a kayak and paddled slowly out to one of the groups of logging whales. Not at all disturbed by us, we came in touching distance and quietly I slipped into the water and inched my way closer to the 3 whales.
