Ebbene sì. Siamo scaramantici e non diciamo nulla. Ultime 150 miglia. Julia sembra impaziente di arrivare e decide di accelerare, con un galoppo veloce verso la Martinica. Saltella sulle onde, alcune le surfa proprio, raggiungendo picchi di velocità durante la discesa. Decidiamo di chiudere il frullone per non tirarlo oltre il dovuto e riapriamo il Genoa. A bordo c'è un clima strano: si respira la trepidazione dell'arrivo mescolata alla malinconia già presente nei cuori dell'equipaggio. A prescindere da come la si è vissuta intimamente, abbiamo attraversato l'oceano Atlantico. Domani secondo programma arriveremo e inevitabilmente dentro si pensa ai giorni vissuti insieme. Ma non è ancora ora di tirare somme. È ora di tenere gli occhi aperti e vivere l'ultima notturna. Bisogna ancora superare una notte, avvistare terra e avvicinare la nostra destinazione. ? The first catamaran from the Neo program, a completely refurbished Lagoon 620, was presented to us in Palma de Mallorca. Hull #29, dating from 2012, has spent 4 months at the Monfalcone yard in Italy undergoing a full refit carried out by the builders themselves: structural and mast inspection, bulkhead rework, replacement of engines, sails, electrics, plumbing, electronics, headlinings, upholstery, etc. Nothing escaped the Lagoon experts! What's more, the catamaran, repainted in Star & Stipes blue, is now equipped with solar panels, a lithium battery bank, low-energy air conditioning and a wastewater treatment system. The cost of this more than complete refit (there are four levels of packs) is in the order of € 800K for a unit that trades on the second-hand market for amounts from € 1.3M. This brings the total to € 2.1M, which compares with the cost of a new, fully-loaded Lagoon 60 at around € 3.2M. A substantial difference that could well attract players in the luxury charter market. For the time being, the Neo program is open to the 170 Lagoon 620s and 50 Lagoon 630 MYs built, though other models will soon be added to the program. ? Toni and I boarded Moments in Time with Captain Mike for our first shakedown sail. It was a morning of flooding rains and stiff breezes. We found this and that issues which we were able to resolve but as the breezes reached 30+ knot winds and the waves turned the minutes to hours, we headed back to Liberty Marine satisfied with the day's progress.
