Our new cruising yacht Viator Explorer 42 DS has 2x10KW electric motors as propulsion. Those motors can be used as hydrogenerators when sailing. We are testing this feature in this short video. The maximum output is about 21A, which equals about 1KW. But it is still very volatile, so we have to optimize the regeneration process. Launched at Sunreef Yachts’ new construction facilities in Gdansk, Poland, the 100 Sunreef Power superyacht is currently undergoing finishing works and getting ready for a series of sea trials and technical tests in the Baltic Sea. Equipped with twin 1300HP engines, the transatlantic luxury catamaran features an aft garage for two jet skis and a selection of water toys as well as a large hydraulic platform. The yacht’s 13,5m beam creates vast relaxation areas which include a full-beam bow terrace with a sunken lounging area and an immense flybridge with a spa pool. The motoryacht’s bespoke interiors include vast accommodation for up to 10 guests, a fitness area and a custom-designed drinks bar. The twin-hull superyacht also stands out with a rose gold superstructure and bimini as well as a grey metallic hull.
