Um novo trauma adicionado à lista! 🥵🌪️ Saímos de Los Narejos, nossa ancoragem favorita aqui no Mar Menor, e seguimos para La Manga por conta de um vento forte que estava previsto. E tcharan… acabamos enfrentando a pior condição que já pegamos a bordo do Utopia. 🫠 Um vento que ganhou força e se transformou na Tempestade Alice! Em outubro de 2025, o que era para ser 30 nós virou 52, veio da direção errada e nos empurrou em direção à terra, com ondas enormes que se formaram rapidinho. Diversas cidades da região sofreram com as enchentes 😥 Nisso só vinha aquela sensação que não saía da cabeça: “Quando isso vai acabar?” Felizmente, nada além do trauma aconteceu! Entre calmarias e tempestades, seguimos vivendo, aprendendo… e navegando. ⛵✨ E você, enfrentaria ou correria? 👀

A gennaker é uma vela nova que vem sendo utilizada desde 1990, principalmente para veleiros de regata. Ela foi projetada para compensar a diferença no ângulo de ataque do vento entre uma genoa e um spinnaker. O que importa durante as manobras é muito mais fácil do que com um balão, é a vela ideal se tiver uma tripulação pequena. Devido à sua geometria, um gennaker tem menos probabilidade de entrar em colapso do que um spinnaker, tornando-a uma vela de suporte mais estável. Kaikōura Island is the seventh largest island in the Hauraki Gulf and in the early 2000's was purchased from private ownership to become a public reserve managed by a Trust. Since then, extensive eradication of pests has been undertaken and natural regeneration of native forest is occurring. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk up to the airfield on Kaikōura Island.
