The Alpine butterfly knot, also known as lineman's loop, butterfly loop, butterfly knot and lineman's rider, is a knot used to form a fixed loop in the middle of a rope. Is it crazy to buy an old boat with no clue about sailing? MAYBE A LITTLE :) But hey, I do love a good challenge!
