So many are talking to us about how to become eco-friendly sailors. In this video Mahina gives you a great place to start and some other small tips. =========================== TRANSCRIPT Now this is a question for all of the sailors out there all of the charterers out there who want to be eco-friendly but want to know where do we start. My answer is, cleaning products! Sometimes these are provided by charter companies sometimes they're not. And it's a great way to take control and start being eco-friendly through the cleaning products that you're buying. I really like NatureSafe Marine. They're made here in Croatia by actually a friend of ours. They provide products like dishwashing soap, all-purpose spray, even hand soap. Because of course the runoff of all of those goes straight into the sea. And being able to use non-toxic products that are not going to pollute the Adriatic Sea any further, is my place for where you can start to be eco-friendly. =========================== Looking to sail in Croatia? La giornata inizia apparentemente come tutte le altre. Sveglia, breve workout, colazione, lavoro, poi usciamo a vela. In questi giorni siamo alla ricerca del giusto equilibrio tra vita a bordo, lavoro e visite delle isole dove ci troviamo. Uno dei migliori modi per dare una scossa a un momento di stallo è appunto, con un’interruzione. Un quadro che cade all’improvviso (chi ha colto la cit.?), una doccia fredda. A noi è arrivato un tonno! Per chi non lo sapesse, a me piace pescare unicamente nella dimensione in cui poi mi nutro di ciò che pesco. Non mi interessa spettacolarizzare la caccia, anzi lo trovo un po’ triste. Al contrario amo una vita sostenibile, equilibrata, in armonia con il mondo in cui viviamo e nutrirmi di ciò che offre la natura, libero, senza antibiotici, senza sofferenza, ma allo stesso tempo nutriente è una delle più nobili azioni che possiamo compiere. Da quando siamo qui non abbiamo più toccato carne per varie ragioni (salvo rare eccezioni) e poter mangiare del pesce pescato da noi rappresenta davvero una grande soddisfazione.
