Built locally in Sidney, this Yar 26 is simply “wow” when you step onboard this piece of nautical history that was described as the “boat of tomorrow” by their designer. Every bit of this boat has received meticulous attention to detail by extremely knowledgeable owners that have lovingly re-finished “Gryphon” during their years of ownership. This mighty little ship is built to cruise comfortably off-the grid throughout the PNW, supported by tanks that carry 50USG of fuel and 75 USG of water with the added bonus of a solar panel to keep the 4 x House batteries fully charged. Finished in custom oak, this vessel was repowered with a Beta diesel engine that only has 525 hours and provides a comfortable cruising speed of 6-7 knots with exceptional fuel efficiency. Electric windlass, auto-helm, large fridge, hot water, dinghy and a 2.5hp Suzuki outboard are all part of the package. Available with assumable moorage at our Sidney location, this vessel is available to view by appointment. Please contact our Vancouver Island Sales Office to schedule a showing.

► Full article in Multihulls World N°201: https://www.multihulls-world.com/articles-catamaran-trimaran/great-abaco-where-cruising-becomes-magical ► Located 180 miles east-northeast of Miami, the Abaco Islands archipelago is a string of low coral and sand islands scattered across a giant swimming pool... Here, thanks to their shoal draft, the multihull is king - which is not the case for big keelboats. In a soothing and enchanting atmosphere, you will discover traditional villages, beaches with sand as white as flour and reefs rich in marine life. From the Sunsail base in Marsh Harbour, we crisscrossed the water for you as far as Nunjack Cay in the north and Little Harbour in the south. The first week of the season ending frosties regatta a strangford lough yacht club got of the a lively start with 15 to 25 knots keeping the sailor busy. J109 Going to Red was blasting across the bottom reach when the out core of the tack line broke. The dynemma core shot forward with the tack line rising about 6 meters before the core locked in tight in the clutch. The team kept calm and kept the kite flying while they dropped the jib before cutting the rope to drop the kit. Another example why you always need a sharp knife handy while racing to ensure that you can get out of any trouble where ropes get locked in and will not run. The crew did a great job of staying calm before racing on to victory in race 1.
