Foi dada a largada para a 48ª edição da Semana Internacional de Vela de Ilhabela, que acontece entre os dias 24 e 31 de julho de 2021, no Yacht Club de Ilhabela (YCI), no litoral norte paulista. Neste sábado (24), aconteceu virtualmente a Reunião de Comandantes, onde os representantes dos veleiros inscritos no evento fazem suas considerações sobre as expectativas para o evento, que terá suas primeiras regatas neste domingo (25). O grande encontro da modalidade conta com 80 barcos das principais classes de vela oceânica, como ORC, RGS, Mini Transat, Multicasco, Bico de Proa, Clássicos, C30 e HPE25. E, pela primeira vez, reúne regatas presenciais e virtuais, com as provas online feitas pelo aplicativo Virtual Regatta Inshore. With the continued interest and increase of foiling opportunities at clubs around the country, Australian Sailing is working to develop programs and resources to support sailors and clubs to get involved with these new and exciting classes. We can break the foiling disciplines into 4 distinct classes, each with their own specific set of skills required, but all sharing the common trait of flying above the water on a hydrofoil.
