If Stu McNay and David Hughes (USA) can win the Medal Race and the Australians finish last, the Americans will just sneak the bronze medal. Apart from that unlikely but not impossible scenario, the 470 Men's medals are wrapped up by the top three teams in the standings. It's just a matter of who wins what between Croatia, Greece and Australia. Mat Belcher and Will Ryan (AUS) have been the class act of this four-year-cycle up until the start of this year. But in this Olympic year, Sime Fantela and Igor Marenic (CRO) have since become the ones to beat after winning a number of major regattas including the 2016 World Championships. Most people still had the Aussies pegged as favourites going into these Games, but the Croatians have been exceptional in Rio, a sixth place being the worst score they have carried through from the ten-race qualifying series. After seeing their fellow countryman Tonci Stipanovic win Croatia's first ever medal in sailing yesterday, these childhood friends are looking to see if they can improve on Laser silver with a historic 470 gold. Panagiotis Mantis and Pavlos Kagialis (GRE) have come on strong towards the end of the week and sit 11 points off the lead. Just two points behind them are the Australians so a case of who beats who to determine which of these crews gets the nicer medal.

Seguitelo perché la sua musica è incredibile. ❤️ Per quanto riguarda oggi: una barca da mettere sottosopra, una barca da rimettere completamente in ordine. Siamo in due a bordo da parecchio tempo. Il che significa avere due cabine di poppa libere: un appoggio perfetto per tutto ciò che non usiamo, non ci serve adesso. Dunque, veniamo a noi. Smontiamo le due cabine di poppa, riordiniamo i gavoni fuori, puliamo tutto. E quando dico tutto intendo TUTTO. Liberiamo i gavoni per fare di nuovo posto a scorte per 7 persone per 18 giorni (più o meno). Pensate di essere a casa e non poter andare al supermercato per più di due settimane. Dovendo far da mangiare per 7 ogni giorno, ogni pasto. Serve spazio, serve decisamente molto spazio😄 Comunque oggi pensavo che questi lavori di pulizia a me piacciono tantissimo. Nel senso che mettere in ordine ciò che mi circonda mi permette di mettere in ordine anche ciò che ho dentro di me. Vedere che ogni cosa è stata riposta con metodo, con ragionamento mi calma e mi rilassa tantissimo. Quindi quando ci sono questi grandi momenti di “risistemazione” provo una profonda sensazione positiva. Nel testo sul video abbiamo citato la parola agitazione: il senso con cui la intendiamo è un senso, anche qui, positivo. C’è fermento, c’è dinamismo, c’è un’imminente partenza, c’è un equipaggio che arriva. Si gira pagina e si mette la prua sul vecchio mondo tra pochi giorni. Non solo perché c’era prima della scoperta dell’America, ma perché per noi è dove siamo cresciuti 😄 Siamo felici di tornare in estate, di avere un riacclimatamento delicato e di portarci dolcemente verso il prossimo autunno e il freddo invernale. Non vi nego che personalmente penso anche a una bella sciata con neve giusta in una bella giornata di sole. Ma c’è tempo. Ora godiamoci il viaggio che, posso dire per fortuna, è ancora lungo🔥❤️ Stiamo per partire. Da domani si cambia marcia. Da domani testa sul mollare gli ormeggi. Andrea
