This was one of the most rewarding (and frustrating) projects I have ever undertaken. Inspired by another boats wheel and wanting something a little more special that the standard French whipping technique, I opted for coachwhipping - and to make it a little more challenging, I made it a 9 strand 😂 is it perfect? No. But it’s pretty darn close and I’m very proud of it! Will I do it again? There comes a time in every cruiser's life where they will eventually face the need to replace their cutlass bearings. We've dropped our rudders, taken the props off (BYE BYE!), and the shafts out. The shafts are really important not to damage, scratch or knick in way away so both shafts have been cradled like precious babies and stored in a safe, secure area on cushioning.
