At Rustler we won’t adopt new technology unless we’re sure it’s right for you. Rustler Yachts builds true round-the-world cruising yachts. They are designed to be safe, reliable and beautiful. Many of our owners will sail cross oceans to remote destinations. It’s here, where you entrust your life in the reliability of your yacht. Without internet or home delivery, you have to be self-reliant. For this reason, we usually fit a simple and robust electrical system into our offshore cruisers. A system that can be owner-maintained and repaired easily – anywhere in the world – with nothing more than a screwdriver. Our new R41 Motor Yacht, however, may only be hours from assistance, not weeks. Even so, we wanted to ensure you can rely on the technology on board. We understand the comforts and information motor yacht owners need and have come to expect. We have sought out the most reliable solution to offer these. We didn’t want to use a system that needed a computer and the internet to be repaired by a separate company. And we don’t want a small electrical component to ruin your time on board. We chose the Mastervolt CZone digital control and monitoring network as standard for our R41. In true Rustler fashion, it offers owners a way of manually overriding the network by moving a fuse. We have learnt and designed our system from the ground up, so we are on hand to help. Here's Simon, our head of engineering to explain more. The 27th Annual Dana West Yacht Club Charity Regatta, off the coast of Dana Point in Southern California had 21 boats competing. Sometimes boats try to occupy the same space on the water and that's when collisions occur. During this race, two Catalina 385's, Marblehead and Tomol, tried to do just that and crashed into each other. Who is at fault and how could this collision have been avoided? Watch and determine for yourself! Please leave a comment on what you think and thank you for Sailing with Scott!
