hello! It has been a rough few weeks onboard with working through all of the possible routes and weather windows to sail through the Bahamas during what is supposed to be a very active hurricane season. We would have been rushing through and that just seemed silly. So, we’ve come to the difficult decision that it safest for us to sail north until early fall before making our way back south. The three entries in the CYCA’s Ponant Sydney Noumea Race headed out of Sydney Harbour under blue skies and a light variable breeze. Grant Wharington & Adrian Seiffert’s Wild Thing 100 with its new rig unsurprisingly led the fleet through the Heads followed by John Linton’s Llama II and Peter Elkington’s Pacman sailing double-handed with Scott Cavanough.
