From the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern Hemisphere, another HUGE milestone in Mara’s journey around the world! And she was SO excited about this one! 🥹❤️ 35 days alone at sea, navigating without GPS, facing whatever the ocean throws at her, and now she’s officially crossed the Equator aboard Showgirl! One more milestone achieved, and so many more still ahead. The Golden Globe Race started 39 days ago, and we’re slowly catching up with all the incredible moments Mara has been experiencing out there. 36 days at sea, and one thing is becoming very clear: sailing around the world is as much a mental challenge as a physical one. 🌍⛵ It’s not always the big storms or dramatic moments that test you. Sometimes it’s the little things. The lack of control, the waiting, the days that don’t quite go as planned, and knowing there’s nobody coming to take over when you’ve had enough. And that’s something we don’t always think about when we imagine an adventure like this. Mara has spent years preparing Showgirl for this journey, but there’s only so much you can prepare yourself for until you’re actually out there, living it.
