Poco più di due giorni dalla partenza della Transpac, Maserati Multi 70 continua la sua corsa verso Honolulu sulla scia dei suoi concorrenti, Argo e PowerPlay. Navigando mure a destra, la performance del trimarano italiano è penalizzata dai danni subiti la scorsa notte: Giovanni Soldini spiega: "Senza il foil del timone sinistro è molto difficile controllare l'assetto longitudinale di Maserati Multi 70, che tende ad impennarsi per poi ricadere nell'acqua: a risentirne è ovviamente la velocità. Non vediamo l'ora di strambare!" Maserati Multi 70, agli aggiornamenti delle 3 UTC, navigava a 26 nodi di velocità, una cinquantina di miglia dietro PowerPlay, che procedeva a 28 nodi a 1253 miglia dal traguardo. You go through customs either way, so the only real question is whether you do it before the charter or during it, and doing it during the charter costs part of day one.
