The finish to Race 3 of the annual Narrows Regatta on Strangford Lough was a quick reach to the finish after the breeze picked up and pivoted 180 degrees. It was next to impossible for the J109 GTR to match it with the VX1 Sports boats which blasted past on the way back to Portaferry. The leading VX1 was in complete control as it fought to stay flat while keeping the spinnaker up to avoid having to drop which would have made for a much slower run to the finish. The J109 GTR could not compete in this race but went on to take the overall series win with a consistent performance across the weekend. Regular viewers will know one of the things we've always wanted to do is moor the boat in winter in a place where we could easily go skiing. We came very close during our winter in Venice with the snow capped dolomite mountains always in view from our mooring. Sadly that year we were scuppered by Covid which kept the ski resorts in the Alps closed all winter. Well this year we've cracked it! Porto Montenegro is a 2 hour drive to Kolasin, a really nice little skiing town high in the picturesque mountains, what's even better is the marina has their own ski chalet which we can book free of charge! @PortoMontenegroTivat @portomontenegrocrewclub @porto_montenegro
