âē Full test in our Special Issue 20 Forever Green 2: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/hopyacht-30-for-making-short-hops-under-sailand-electric-power âē Nominated for the MOTY 2023 in the Forever Green category, the HopYacht 30 is offering a new and refreshing approach in the somewhat traditional world of boating... this catamaran designed by Du Toit Yacht Design makes no pretentions in terms of performance, focusing instead on ease of handling and practicality in general. Indeed, the HopYacht 30 features a single furling genoa supported by a mast logically stepped very far aft. The designers have limited the beam to 11 feet 3 inches (3.44 m) in order to limit the cost of a marina slip. The HopYacht can be disassembled and its two hulls each fit into a standard shipping container. This catamaran will therefore be crossing the oceans as deck cargo - it is approved in CE Category C (Beaufort Force 6 and maximum wave heights of 2 meters or 6ÂŊ feet). In addition to its genoa, the HopYacht is powered by two 6 kW E-Propulsion pods, equivalent to 9.9 HP regular motors, but without pollution or noise of course. With the adoption of an induction cooker and an electric water heater, no fossil fuels will be consumed on board. The interior, not dissimilar to what youâd find in the riverboat sector, is surprisingly comfortable for a unit of this size. The manufacturer is also offering an interesting model of shared ownership for 6 people (or 3 couples). âē TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: HopYacht Architect: Du Toit Yacht Design Length: 30â8â (9.35 m) Beam: 11â3â (3.44 m) Draft: 2â4â (0.7 m) Air draft: 39â4â (12 m) Sail area: 318 sq ft (29.5 m²) âē Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld âē Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Wait a sec - an Epic, that's designed for fishing? You bet. This is a bay boat that comes with all the prerequisite features, like a livewell, aft jump seats that fold into a casting deck, rod holders, and more. Sure, this builder is known for building watersports and wakeboarding boats - not fishing machines. But since it's an Epic, it has a few unusual characteristics you don't usually see on boats designed for the hook-set. Check out the video, and if you want more information, then visit Epic. Don't forget to watch on boats.com, too, because we'll have an in-depth review of this boat coming soon. http://features.boats.com/boat-content/2013/11/epic-22-sc-first-look-video/ For more boat videos, visit www.boats.com.
