Last year Trinidad, this year Saint Martin! A new experience for us, we're celebrating Carnival 2025 on the French side of St Martin, an island in the northern windward islands of the Caribbean. The small but vibrant parade showed a passion for the spirit of Carnival with each troupe performing for the crowd and showing of their skills. There was dancing, drumming, moko jumbies and whip cracking, with a positive vibe as visitors and locals alike shared in the day. Being about to experience different cultures and events around the world is one of the highlights of living on a boat! https://www.travelsketchsailing.com/ ☝ Check out the website for more info on us, the places we go and products we use 📷 After backpacking Asia, road tripping Europe and doing a bit of van life, we’re now exploring the world aboard our Leopard 45 catamaran. 🎶 Music from Artlist ➼ Get yourself 2 months free with a subscription https://artlist.io/Telicia-1577425 #saintmartin #travel #travelvlog #lifestyle #caribbeanisland #travel #stmartin #caribbeanculture #localculture

► Founded in 2000 in Marans (near La Rochelle, France), the Aventura Catamarans brand was created by Eric Roger and his son Romain following the takeover of Go Marine, which manufactured small sport catamarans. The opportunity to take over the Camping Cat molds kick-started the adventure: the Aventura 23 (later the 23.5) was launched. The process continued with the Aventura 28, taken from the Diabolo molds, then the Aventura 36, similar to the Edel 36. STGI launched their first “real” models with the Aventura 33, followed by the 43 and 20, and set up in Tunisia in 2005 - in Tazarka, south-east of Tunis. 10 years later, Samer Lasta took over the design of the new models from the 34 onwards, and the yard moved to Menzel Bourghiba near Bizerte in 2015. It was this four-acre (16,000 m²) covered site, with its 300 employees, that we got the chance to visit. Here, in a former French Navy arsenal, they launched the 44, then the 37 and most recently the 45 in its sailing range. Powercats made their appearance with the A10, followed by the A14, which quickly became the Aventura 50 MY and was soon available in a 56-foot version. The weekender market was not to be outdone, with the launch of the Aventura 38 SC, which came in 4 versions. Today, STGI offers 4 models with an annual production of 50 units per year. ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! On day 85 out of 90 in Southeast Asia, I crashed on the motorbike while filming myself. This was a gentle crash. A few minutes later, I crashed again while going downhill. The motorbike I rented had no rear brake and so I was trying to navigate the steep dirt roads with only the front brake. Any cyclist/motorcycle rider knows the danger in that... The second crash was a doozy and I bruised my knee pretty good... Still hurting a week later. (Yes Mom and Dad, I've been to both the hospital on the island, and my doctor here at Stanford. I'll be fine.)
