Built locally in Sidney, this Yar 26 is simply “wow” when you step onboard this piece of nautical history that was described as the “boat of tomorrow” by their designer. This mighty little ship is built to cruise comfortably off-the grid throughout the PNW, supported by tanks that carry 50USG of fuel and 75 USG of water with the added bonus of a solar panel to keep the 4 x House batteries fully charged. Finished in custom oak, this vessel was repowered with a Beta diesel engine that only has 525 hours and provides a comfortable cruising speed of 6-7 knots with exceptional fuel efficiency. Electric windlass, auto-helm, large fridge, hot water, dinghy and a 2.5hp Suzuki outboard are all part of the package. Maserati Multi 70 è in trasferimento da Honolulu a Hong Kong. La situazione meteo non è delle migliori, a causa di tante zone di bassa pressione che annullano completamente l'aliseo e favoriscono la creazione di tifoni. L'Oceano Pacifico, inoltre, è costellato di detriti di plastica: continuiamo a veder sfrecciare oggetti galleggianti. Questa notte qualcosa ha colpito un timone, ma il nostro sistema di fusibili ha funzionato alla grande e siamo riusciti a rimetterlo in uso senza alcun danno. Ieri sera ci siamo imbattuti in un grosso telo di plastica, che fortunatamente siamo riusciti a tirare a bordo: è un pezzo di plastica in meno nell'oceano, ma sono davvero tanti. È veramente spaventoso lo stato in cui è ridotto il mare dopo appena qualche decennio dall'avvento della plastica. Abbiamo riscontrato dei problemi all'alternatore, per cui siamo costretti a risparmiare energia, poichè l'unica fonte energetica rimangono i pannelli solari, che in giornate di pioggia caricano poca energia. A bordo di Maserati Multi 70 va tutto bene, tranne la mancanza di energia nelle giornate di pioggia. Per fortuna non appena esce un po' di sole i nostri pannelli solari Solbian ci regalano tantissima energia: è come avere un piccolo generatore che non consuma neanche una goccia di gasolio, quasi una magia!
