Indonesia’s “Forgotten Islands” – also known as the Southeast Moluccas are not a single charter destination, but rather a 1,000 km long chain of archipelagos stretching from Timor to West Papua on the island of New Guinea. The remote islands of the ‘Ring of Fire’ have escaped much of the development of the modern world and remain pristine outposts of Indonesia’s extraordinary marine environment, offering untouched reefs, abundant marine life and bigger fish species including sharks. A yacht charter through the Banda Sea usually starts in Ambon where you warm up with some muck diving in Ambon Bay or on the reefs along the south coast, before sailing towards Nusa Laut. In the almost 2 years we've spent in Trinidad repairing our boat in the shipyard and on anchor we've made some amazing friends. Before we left, we wanted to catch up with two of them for one last lime. Both incredible cooks we had curried goat for dinner then after a swim the next morning to recover from the late night, tucked into some tasty curried duck.
