We sail on the good ship Saracen, a Beneteau Oceanis 473 from 2006. Out journey started in Scotland in early 2023 and our ultimate goal is to sail around the globe …..slowly. We make these videos mostly for family and friends and to create a record of our adventures for ourselves so that we can look back at them later in life, were not in it to make money (way to hard). Nu har vi lämnat in en ny anmälan om skolpliktens upphörande. Vi vistas i Sverige just nu och därför behöver vi göra en ny anmälan. Det här är en sån sak många familjer inte känner till. Skolplikt gäller när barnet anses bosatt i Sverige (folkbokföringen). Om familjen bor eller vistas utomlands under en längre period kan skolplikten upphöra. Men om man senare är i Sverige igen under en period kan kommunen behöva pröva frågan på nytt. Det betyder inte att man gjort fel tidigare. Det betyder bara att lagen följer var barnet anses bo just nu. Efter snart två år av att hemskola våra barn och navigera skollagen har jag lärt mig en sak. Det finns massa osäkerhet kring lagarna. Jag minns själv tankarna i början: “Tänk om vi gör något olagligt?” “Kan vi få vite?” “Vad händer om vi gör fel med folkbokföringen?” Den oron är helt rimlig. Men när man faktiskt läser lagen, förstår hur kommuner resonerar och vet vilka beslut som behöver tas när, då blir det plötsligt mycket enklare. Det är precis därför jag idag hjälper andra familjer som vill resa eller bo utomlands en längre tid med barn. Så att de kan göra det: ✔ lagligt ✔ tryggt ✔ utan den där klumpen i magen För det är inte drömmen som är svår. Det är regelverket runt omkring. ► Conceived in 2013 to ease the pressure on the traditional ARC, which has been taking sailors across the Atlantic from East to West since 1986, the ARC+ has become increasingly popular thanks to its stopover in Mindelo, Cape Verde. According to Paul Tetlow, General Manager of the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, the Mindelo stopover has many advantages - especially for family crews. The route, although longer overall, is in fact two legs shorter (11 to 16 days for Mindelo - St. Georges) than the ARC's “direct” transatlantic passage and features a generally more clement southerly route. The stopover also serves to strengthen the bonds between the crews. Arriving in Grenada, in the far south of the West Indies, means there are no questions about the Caribbean program: you're heading north until May, and that's that! This year, no fewer than 91 yachts ranging in size from 36 to 72 feet (11 to 22 m) docked at Grenada's luxurious Port Louis marina. Among them were no fewer than 27 catamarans - a ratio that is steadily increasing in favor of multihulls. On the dock, 434 sailors of 26 different nationalities shared their ocean experience. 37 children took part in the adventure: among them, Lauren, Rebecca and Michela, aboard the Dutch Excess 11 AtC, looked after Archie, the ARC+'s teddy bear mascot... The ARC+, deliberately oriented towards cruising, has no racing division, whereas the ARC does, but only for monohulls. All multihulls are therefore authorized to use their engines, but they are required to declare the times they use them, and an hourly penalty is logically assigned. It can be strategically useful for getting out of an area of calms more quickly and optimize passage time. As a consequence of this “motor-driven” regatta, it's the compensated time that motivates the crews and interests us.
