My alternator hasn't been charging my lithium batteries properly since the new engine installation, so we're heading back to the yacht riggers who installed my electrical upgrades in 2020. They're at the Annapolis Sailboat Show, so we'll have a little wait before we can get things sorted out and continue north. I'm down at the public beach checking out the building waves and storm preparations. The National Shrimp Festival setup has been dismantled, storm command is on site, and Gulf Shores is getting ready! 🚨🌊💨 Salty Abandon is safely tucked away in Naples while Tuxey, Mango, and I are back home preparing to ride out the hurricane. 🐈🐈❤️ I've stocked up on groceries, prescriptions, gasoline, and fuel stabilizer. This will also be my first hurricane without my husband, so it's a little different this time. ❤️ ⚡ AND WAIT UNTIL THE END! My Honda 8,000-watt generator hasn't been started since Hurricane Sally in 2020! I bought it after Hurricane Ivan in 2004. Salty Abandon is safe in Naples. The babies and I are headed home to Gulf Shores to secure the house for Hurricane Isaias.

With a hurricane threatening the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach area, I’m leaving Salty Abandon safely tied up at Naples City Dock while Tuxey, Mango and I hit the road for home. 🚗🐈🐈 The plan is to get back to Gulf Shores, secure the house, take care of anything that needs attention, and hopefully watch this storm turn into a whole lot of nothing. 🤞🙏⛈️ Yesterday was a 10-hour boat ride. I moved to the north end of Marathon to stage for tomorrow’s departure, got the winch repaired, changed the engine oil, fueled up at Safe Harbor Marathon, and then headed over to beautiful Faro Blanco Marina for the night. It wasn’t a long run, but there was plenty happening aboard as we got Salty Abandon ready for the next leg.
