Over the last months, we and our team frequently found ourselves discussing what we missed most about sailing. It soon became apparent that we were suffering from a general sensory nostalgia. We yearned for the sound of the sea breeze, the feeling of wind as it pulls the sail, the sense of utter freedom once the boat picks up speed. We craved all of that and more. We decided to put our nostalgia to good use by creating #Trustyoursenses video, a little cinematic tribute to the sensory magic of sailing. Now that travel is possible again, it has become a celebration of those simple pleasures that we will never again take for granted. Watch it, get inspired, start sailing. "Excuse me sir, I think you have some stuff growing on your face... 5 months under the sea has led to some sponge growth out of his orifices and we couldn't be happier." Watch this short video shot by the team behind Beyond the Reef. Who are they? In a nutshell, Beyond The Reef works to create a diverse reef ecosystem for marine species to inhabit and thrive in where the seafloor would otherwise remain desolate and damaged. With over 25 years of experience in the world of sailing, the crew behind sailing school Orza Minore has been able to create a unique model on the sailing scene, based on the love for this sport and geared towards sharing the technique to both the beginner and the advanced sailor. Orza Minore is one of the main sailing schools in Italy, operating mainly in Dervio on Lake Como. The crew is not just about lake sailing, as they often head south towards more open waters, in Liguria and Sardinia. Orza Minore deals with sailing at 360°, from beginner courses for children and adults to the more technique-driven classes for competitive teams. What makes Orza a special learning environment is the passion of its sailing instructor like Martino, passionate about sailing for 13 years now. You can read the full interview with Martino in the first issue of our digital magazine Magister Navis here: https://sailogy.com/en/magazine Enjoy the read!
